Gunn Family Memory Pillows
Stacia, a hospice aide from Toledo, OH, shared how a memory pillow brought solace to the Gunn family after they lost their mom. “They absolutely loved the pillows,” Stacia shared. They said they were perfect and still smelled like Mom. The pillows brought tears to their eyes. They are so grateful to have such a keepsake.”
The memory gifts program was created for moments just like this. Through the love and skill of Elara Caring volunteer sewers, treasured keepsakes like pillows and bears are made from clothing provided by families- a favorite t-shirt, a beloved blanket, or a work uniform. These items, rich with personal memories, are transformed into tokens of comfort.
For many, memory pillows and blankets become more than just keepsakes. They became a touchstone for grieving families, offering a sense of presence and connection when they just need to feel close to their loved ones again.
Thank you for supporting the memory gifts program. You are helping to bring warmth and healing to countless hospice families, one memory at a time.
