A Father’s Walk to the Aisle
Steve beat the odds and was still with us— but getting there seemed impossible. Cancer in his spine made every movement excruciating. His last trip outside required an ambulance, gurney, and medical team— too painful to attempt again. The only way out safely was a wheelchair ramp, but the cost put that dream out of reach. Until you stepped in. Because of your generosity, a ramp was installed- just in time.
On the wedding day, Steve wheeled out of his home and exclaimed, “THIS IS AMAZING!” He still can’t believe he was there to witness his son say, “l do.”
And your impact didn’t stop there. His sister Diane explained, “Before the ramp, he felt trapped…it added to a feeling of hopelessness.” Now he does not have to worry as intensely about the struggle to leave the house– for care, sunshine, or fresh air. She continued, “It is a weight lifted off of his mind which lets him focus more on the positive parts of daily living rather than the physical struggles.
Thank you for making Steve’s wish come true and bringing sunshine to his soul.
