Supporting the Whole Family

Hospice care extends beyond patients—it includes the companions who bring comfort, joy and emotional support during the hospice journey. For Juanita, that companion was Dawn, her beloved emotional support dog.

The Elara Caring Hospice Foundation stepped in and covered an outstanding veterinary bill for Dawn. This support meant the world to Juanita, who expressed her deep gratitude not only for the Foundation but for the entire Elara Caring team.

During Juanita’s hospice visits, Dawn was in good spirits, wagging her tail and enjoying the attention from the team. Brittany, Elara Caring hospice social worker, noted how important this support was for Juanita, ensuring that Dawn received the care she needed and deserved.
