Meet Jeff: Hospice Heart Honoree

Meet Jeff: Jeff Stedge is a Spiritual Care Coordinator within our Lafayette, IN Elara Caring Hospice location.

For the past several years, Jeff has received numerous “Hospice Heart” nominations from patients and families he has served in their end-of-life journey. These individuals have made gifts to our Elara Caring Hospice Foundation in honor of the care Jeff has provided to them.

One family states, “I am pleased to make a donation to the Elara Caring Hospice Foundation in your honor. Thank you to the many people that were so helpful during my wife’s final days. I know it takes some special people to deal with families at this time when people emotions are at peak times, but you were all very kind, during and after, so all I can say is – Thank you to all involved.”

When reflecting upon how he serves others as a Spiritual Care Coordinator, Jeff states, “What a joy it is to be a part of a team that achieves excellent care. Thank you to my Hospice team members for helping me find meaningful entrances to such exceptional situations where spiritual care is needed, accepted, and appreciated. I am exceptionally grateful for this honor and redirect it towards a team I will always be grateful to and know how wonderful team members look for scenarios where I can factor in when spiritual care has not been readily accepted at first. Being a companion to those who just need compassionate care means the world to me as I can continue bringing compassionate care to those who just need a listening, non-judgemental, and unbiased ear.”
