Meet Anne: Hospice Heart Honoree

Meet Anne: Anne Hirsch-Lajiness is an RN, Case Manager for the Kalamazoo, MI Elara Caring Hospice location.

Anne has received numerous “Hospice Heart” nominations from patients and families she has served in their end-of-life journey. These individuals have made gifts to our Elara Caring Hospice Foundation in honor of the care Anne has provided to them.

One family states, “Anne was very compassionate and informative on what to expect in mom’s final days.” Another family shared, “What I remember is your professionalism, empathy, enthusiasm, and humor that made your time with us so special.”

When reflecting upon her role, Anne states, “The only thing I can say about hospice is that whenever I tell people what I do and they say ‘oh, you are angels.’ I always say that no I am blessed to have a job where on good or bad days, I can go home knowing I made a difference in someone’s life.”
