Lasting Wish
Celebrating a Graduation Lasting Wish
Duane Schwartz is writing a book. He soon plans to launch a YouTube channel preaching words of encouragement about not giving up. He recently graduated with his Bachelor of Ministry degree, all while living with a terminal illness.
After living through Covid-19 and months of hospitalization and rehabilitation, Duane had the goal to earn his degree from EDGE Bible college and share his ministry of encouragement and hope with others. Despite requiring high levels of oxygen, and working with his clinical team to balance breathing and his comfort with his need to remain alert and cognitively able to perform well on his final exams, Duane has overcome yet another odd: he graduated with his degree while living with a terminal illness and receiving hospice care.
The Elara Caring Hospice Foundation was thrilled to partner with Duane and his family, alongside our Elara Caring Hospice Fort Wayne, Indiana branch, to sponsor the meal for his recent graduation party as a Lasting Wish in support of this momentous occasion. Our ECHF Team and board members are thrilled to celebrate Duane and can’t wait to tune in to his YouTube channel and read his upcoming book, “Even If.” Congratulations, Duane!
